RGWOOD CBN Wheel Lathe AdapterThe RGWOOD CBN & Polishing Wheel Lathe Adapter allows you to mount your CBN sharpening wheels and polishing mpos onto your lathe shaft for SLOW speed grinding, and also accepts standard 5/8" center polishing mops for polishing Time to sharpen those well used and well loved turning tools of yours! (Sharpening wheels sold seperately)Adapters are available to mount to 1-1/4" x 8tpi and 1" x 8tpi lathe shafts, and 5/8" for stacking (this one attaches to the end of another if you want to mount 2 wheels). Please be sure to check the size of your lathe shaft and select the correctly sized adapter accordingly. The 5/8" shaft on the adapter accepts most generic CBN wheels and ALL RGWOOD CBN wheels. How to Use:Make sure your lathe is powered off.Securely mount your CBN wheel/lathe adapter to your lathe.Mount the CBN wheel itself to the adapter.Adjust your tailstock live center to the end of the mandrel: the end of the mandrel is designed to accept your tailstock live center for support. Do not skip this step!Put on your safety glasses and other safety gear.Turn on your lathe to SLOW speed and carefully begin sharpening your turning tools.You can either use your tool rest as a support post, or you can mount your sharpening jigs to the lathe.IMPORTANT – KEEP YOUR LATHE SPEED BELOW 2000 RPM.Additional Information:So your lathe shaft isn’t the right size for the two adapter options we sell.
