The 3/8″ wheel rim is coated, providing an ideal flat surface for sharpening drill bits and similar tasks. They are bored at 5/8″ and also come with a 1/2″ adapter sleeve for grinders with a 1/2″ shaft. These wheels are made of steel and are heavy, weighing approximately 8 pounds each. A 3/4 – 1 HP, 1800 RPM grinder is recommended for use. If using a grinder with less horsepower, the wheels can still be used, but you may need to give them a flick with your hand to get them started. Additionally, these wheels are well-made and have been tested for balance. Any necessary adjustments for balancing have already been made, which may be indicated by a small hole on one side.Notes on the 6″ CBN Grinding Wheels:The corners on the 6″ CBN Grinding Wheels are also squared off, and the 9/16″ wheel rim is coated, providing an ideal flat surface for sharpening drill bits and similar tools.
